Langford is one of the municipalities of the West Shore in the Capital Regional District. Bordering Langford is the District of Metchosin, the City of Colwood, the Town of View Royal, the District of Highlands and the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area. With its central location, Langford is becoming the commercial core of the West Shore. Langford is well served by highways, rail and bus to Victoria and the rest of Vancouver Island, and by ferries and air to Vancouver and the US. The Victoria International Airport, approximately 35 kilometers (21 miles) away, offers direct air transportation to destinations worldwide.
The City prides itself on being on the forefront of municipal technology and they wanted a website that matched their ambition. So when the posted their Wanted sign for a new site, we got on our horse and put together our most cutting edge site yet. Langford's new site features a wealth of functionality that will make both City staff and Langford constituents and businesses extremely happy. There is a highly functional Online Business Directory, a comprehensive Forms & Documents Library; a searchable Bylaws database; online RFPs and tenders; Job Postings; Customized Photo Galleries; real-time weather integration; and a whole herd of other functions.
And just to prove we weren't all steak with no sizzle, we gave the website a very slick new design to wrap it all up in. The design also has some fun functionality that will make browsing the website fun, on top of being information. The whole site has been created using our state-of-the-art Content Management System, ElementCMS, allowing Langford staff to update the website themselves, thereby ensuring the site is up-to-the-minute. Despite our country leanings, Langford has ended up with a site that is very rock & roll.
